Guides dressed in period attire assist visitors in experiencing 19th-century Gulf Coast life at the Oakleigh Historic Complex, which includes historic buildings such as the Oakleigh House Museum and the Cox-Deasy Cottage Museum. Visitors can explore a collection of 19th-century paintings, furniture and decorative arts as well as purchase books and souvenirs in the gift shop. The 3-acre complex is located downtown, just west of Washington Square.
