One hundred acres of land comprise the Mobile Botanical Gardens, including cultivated gardens and naturally forested areas interspersed with meandering trails. Some of the gardens' most popular areas which visitors can wander include the Millie McConnell Rhododendron Garden, featuring more than 1,000 evergreen azaleas, and the Founders Fragrance and Texture Garden, alive with beautiful plants and flowers emitting a variety of lovely scents. The gardens sit just west of the Mobile Museum of Art near the University of South Alabama, about seven miles west of downtown Mobile.
